Dr. John Peter Cole – Medical director Forhair and Owner of Cole Instruments
John P. Cole, MD has gained recognition internationally as a surgeon who has advanced the science of hair transplants through research, development of treatment methods and instruments and teaching other physicians. Dr. Cole offers both “Follicular Unit Extraction” or FUE as well as “Strip Harvesting” (Follicular Unit Transplantation) procedures in his practice.
Dr. Cole created a proprietary CIT® method of Follicular Unit Extraction which is based on the Cole Isolation Technique (CIT), advancing results for the patient. A CIT® hair transplant uses superior hair grafts handling methods as well as increases patient comfort over prior methods.
Dr. Cole’s education and includes his 1981 graduation from Mercer University where he received degrees in Chemistry and Biology, with honors. Dr. Cole was granted an academic scholarship from the United States Army to attend Mercer.
In 1985, Dr. Cole received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He also received a post graduate degree from the University of Missouri, specializing in internal medicine. Since 1990, Dr. Cole’s practice Forhair.com has specialized on hair transplant surgeries.
Dr. Cole is recognized world-wide for his expertise, but too for his innovation in creating specialized hair transplant tools with his company Coleinstruments.com (read also “About the automated PCID FUE extraction device“). He also shares his education and discoveries at medical seminars and speaking engagements.
Dr. Cole is a member of many professional and trade organizations including the American Medical Society (AMA), American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS), the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), the European Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ESHRS) and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). Dr. Cole served as Chairman of ISHRS and was also one of the first surgeons named a Diplomat of ABHRS. He currently serves on the Board of Directors and Examination Committee of ABHRS showing his commitment to the profession and teaching others.
Among his specializations are Follicular Unit Extraction and Follicular Unit Transplantation as well as body hair transplant, plug removal and redistribution, scar revisions and body hair framing. Dr. Cole is committed to his patients and is constantly seeking to improve the hair transplant experience.
